My name is Jon Nolan we are a family run business based in Amble on the beautiful Northumberland coast, I've worldwide experience surfing in, Australia, Easter Island, Costa Rica, Lanzarote and France. When not taking lessons I'm spending time with family 'n friends.

“I booked a lesson for myself and three friends who had never surfed before. We all had an excellent time and Jon was a great instructor. He took you through the safety issues but let you spend maximum time in the water. Although all beginners, he was aware of our different abilities and catered accordingly and by the end of our lesson we had all managed to stand on our boards.

“My family were coming to Warkworth on holiday and I booked a family surfing lesson from Jon at Northside Surf School in Amble. I wanted to provide a great Northumbrian experience for my son, his wife and two children aged 8 and 9. It was a great success and Jon ensured they had a fantastic time. Jon provided safety instruction, vests, wetsuits and boards.
He took them in the water, made sure they were safe, and encouraged them. He made the lesson great fun and in no time at all they were standing on the boards and 'riding' the waves. They were thrilled and exhilarated and it was absolutely the highlight of the holiday.
I also rent out a holiday home, and I would and do recommend my guests to Jon at Northside Surf School.
